Mumbai (Simcorn): Indian
Council for Research on
International Economic Relations (ICRIER) studies states that mobile
application economy is to generate over 600000 jobs in various sections in
India by 2016. As of now, there are only 50 -70 thousand professional mobile
app developers in the country.
The estimate is on the basis of the
report 'An Inquiry into the Impact of India's App Economy' released. As per the
assumptions, direct employment in app industry to range between 1,51,230 and
1,59,010 by 2016 that account for 75,000 jobs in India at present.
According to Subho Ray, President, Internet
& Mobile Association of India (IAMAI), with the current booming mobile
phone industry, India would require about 20 million application developers by
2020.
Leading mobile OS platforms are Andriod, Windows, IOS, Blackberry.
